Core professional competency

AMOS — Integrated Materials & Maintenance Management

Extensive practical AMOS experience connecting equipment, inventory, materials, procurement follow-up and maintenance planning across my offshore career.

One operational view of readiness

Equipment and components → Maintenance requirements → Work orders → Spare-parts requirements → Inventory → Material requests → Purchase requisitions → Purchase orders → Logistics → Maintenance readiness

This is an integrated operational workflow: related records, activities and people must be coordinated. It does not mean every step is an automatically connected software transaction.

Equipment & inventory administration

  • Equipment and component creation.
  • Stock-code creation and maintenance.
  • Inventory records and stock control.
  • Materials receiving, issuing and discharging.
  • Stock movements and reconciliation.

Materials & procurement

  • Material-request creation.
  • Conversion of material requests into purchase requisitions.
  • Purchase requisition processing.
  • Purchase-order workflows and follow-up.
  • Materials availability and delivery coordination.

Maintenance management

  • Maintenance work-order creation.
  • Planned and corrective maintenance coordination.
  • Maintenance scheduling and work-order monitoring.
  • Overdue and critical maintenance follow-up.
  • Maintenance records and work-order closure.

Assignment context: Saipem and Jasper Explorer experience centred on AMOS materials, inventory and related procurement and logistics activities. At SSV Louisiana, my Planned Maintenance Supervisor role covered AMOS-related maintenance planning, scheduling, work-order activities and coordination across technical departments.

Activities were performed within the responsibilities and approval controls of each assignment. Purchase-order approval remained subject to the authorised workflow; technical engineering certification remained with the responsible qualified personnel.

Materials, logistics & asset accountability

Offshore Materials, Cargo Logistics & Asset Accountability

Extensive practical experience managing offshore materials and cargo accountability across international drilling and construction vessels, coordinating closely with deck crews, marine departments, supply vessels and shore-based logistics teams.

Responsibilities included coordinating inbound and outbound cargo loading and offloading with deck and marine crews; verifying received materials against shore-base cargo manifests; checking quantities, identification, condition and supporting documentation; photographing transit damage or discrepancies; and reporting shortages, damage and manifest discrepancies.

Prepared outbound cargo manifests incorporating equipment descriptions, part numbers, asset references, quantities, weights, dimensions and supporting photographs where applicable. Coordinated signed supply-vessel cargo receipt acknowledgements and transmitted the relevant documentation to shore bases for reconciliation and follow-up.

Maintained materials accountability for equipment, consumables and applicable bulk or waste movements, including drill water, oil-based mud and other operational cargo, in coordination with responsible technical and marine departments.

Followed applicable vessel security, cargo-handling and hazardous-material documentation procedures, including ISPS-related requirements and verification of relevant Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).

Also maintained equipment identification, tagging and location records for rig assets, including drilling tubulars, risers, cranes, rescue boats, top drives, generators and associated equipment.

Combined physical materials accountability with AMOS-based component records, inventory transactions, requisitions, procurement follow-up and maintenance requirements to support offshore operational readiness.

These responsibilities were carried out in coordination with deck and marine crews, technical departments and shore-based logistics personnel, with operational execution and technical decisions remaining under the authority of the respective responsible departments.

My experience combined physical cargo accountability, equipment identification and asset-location tracking with AMOS-based inventory, requisition, procurement and maintenance records to support offshore operational readiness.

Inventory Governance & Materials Assurance

Across offshore materials and storekeeping assignments, participated in internal stock audits and client-required external audits, reconciled physical stock against AMOS and investigated discrepancies through receipts, issues and work-order history. Stock corrections and duplicate-code consolidation followed departmental consultation and the applicable approvals.

Monitored min/max levels and critical spares, maintained materials preservation, and checked receipts against manifests, part numbers and condition with technical-department confirmation of suitability. Maintained relevant SDS and lifting-equipment certificate records and tracked rental and third-party assets through identified, documented movements.

Prepared daily materials-consumption information to support operating-cost accounting and applicable client back-charges, and circulated below-minimum reports to relevant departments. Coordinated urgent materials and logistics with shore-based teams and technical departments through the required authorisations.
